Located at 1412 S Congress Ave, Güero's has been serving Austin since 1986. They're open daily from 11am-10pm and have an amazing oak-shaded patio.
Güero’s is one of the longest-running restaurants on South Congress — it opened well before SoCo became the tourist magnet it is today.
The al pastor is incredible - perfectly seasoned with a nice char. Service can be slow during peak hours but the margaritas make the wait worthwhile.
Ask for a patio table under the massive oak trees — it’s one of the best people-watching spots in 78704.
Weekend brunch and dinner rush (especially during festivals or UT game weekends) can mean 30+ minute waits. Go early or mid-afternoon for a smoother experience.
